Your
Safety
is our first priority

Surge protectors: Homes, businesses and offices have an abundance of expensive electronics throughout that may be susceptible to power surges. A surge protecting device will protect these devices and the wiring within the walls in the case of a power surge.

Tamper resistant devices: Even though tamper resistant receptacles look the same as a normal receptacle, they operate quite differently. Spring loaded cover plates prevent insertion into the receptacle without 'even' pressure applied to the device.

Panel upgrades: An electrical panel needs to be replaced if it shows any wear or signs of malfunction. Fuse panels use out-of-date mechanics to provide protection to wiring and devices, many of which do not conform to today's electrical code. Upgrading your panel to breakers is a quick and safe alternative to replacing old fuses.

Smoke / CO detectors: By today's standards, smoke detectors must be hardwired (120V) together on all floors of a unit including all bedrooms. Many older homes contain smoke detectors that have old batteries and are malfunctioning. Let Ottawa Power Smart provide peace of mind to your home by providing you with the most up to date safety devices.

GFCI protection: A GFCI receptacle is required where a receptacle is within 1.5M of a water source, and protects against electric shock. Usually, these are required in bathrooms and kitchens. This is a task that we come across often in older homes and are more than happy to take care of.

ARC fault protection: An arc fault circuit interrupter is similar to a GFCI in that it will protect against electrical failure. Arc faults are usually found in bedroom circuits where cords and plugs are susceptible to squishing and fraying. This is a simple breaker replacement and can provide peace of mind in your home.
